  • In addition to the layer cake(s) you’d like to display, we offer small and large sheet cakes in matching flavors.

  • Yes-ish! If the cake you’re looking for doesn’t stray TOO far from the aesthetic we offer here, we are happy to discuss a more custom design. Please reach out through our contact form.

  • We use high end and local florals that are in season for the date of your order, so while we are happy to hear which colors, styles, shapes, and sizes you prefer, availability ultimately dictates the design. Please leave any preferences in the “Notes/Additional info” section at checkout, and we will certainly do our best to accommodate!

  • No, we do not offer writing on our cakes. Please feel free to add an optional topper, such as fresh florals and/or candles.

  • 
Yes! We offer both gluten free and vegan versions of our cakes. Please reach out through our contact form to discuss.

  • We don’t offer sit down, formal tastings, however, we offer a Mini Cake Tasting Box for pick up or delivery which is a great way to get a taste for our cake and its quality.

LOGISTICS + PRICING

  • We require a minimum of 72 hours, and we accept orders no more than four months out from your event date.

    Please note: If your order is placed for a pick up or delivery date/time in less than 72 hours, or more than four months, we reserve the right to cancel the order.

  • Pick ups (Brooklyn, NY 11216) are available 7 days a week, 10am-5pm.

    Delivery details will be worked out via email.

  • Tiered layer cakes:
    Brooklyn $100 | Downtown Manhattan (14th St. + below) $125 | Midtown Manhattan + North $150 | Harlem $175

    Everything else requires a $100 minimum order:
    Brooklyn $25 | Downtown Manhattan (14th St. + below) $50 | Midtown Manhattan + North $45 | Harlem $75

  • After you receive your initial order confirmation, you will receive a second email within 48 hours containing pick up details (exact address + instructions). You must pick up your order within your chosen order window or your order is subject to cancellation. If you need to change your pick up date/time, please let us know ASAP so we can do our best to accommodate.

  • If you need to adjust your order, please let us know ASAP so we can do our best to accommodate.

    If you want to add items, you can just place another order and we will combine.

    For a full refund, cancellation requests must be made 72 hours before pick up/delivery day. Anything later than that will not be refunded.

  • Custom cake shops have high minimum order amounts that end up costing you much more. We have no minimums, so what you see is what you get.

SERVING + STORING

  • Yes! Here at Layered, we are highly knowledgeable about each flower type and its toxicity level. We only use low risk florals + herbs. Even then, each flower is stripped of its leaves, has its stem waterproof wrapped, and its petals touching the cake sprayed with a safe edible sealant. Floral cakes should be beautiful, delicious, and most importantly, safe!

  • Cakes with a fresh floral topping MUST BE DISPLAYED THE DAY IT IS PICKED UP/DELIVERED and stored in the fridge until then. The cut flowers will wilt being held any longer than that or if they’re being held in a warm environment.

  • If being consumed the same day of pick up/delivery, your cake is best stored in the fridge or at room temperature.

    If storing in the fridge, we suggest removing 1/2 hour-1 hour before serving to come to temp.

    Your cake will remain at peak freshness for 3-4 days, boxed and uncut, when stored in the fridge. I recommend wrapping the box with plastic wrap as well, if you can.

  • Yes! Your cake can be wrapped in plastic wrap or placed in a freezer bag and frozen for approximately one year. Simply place the cake in the fridge the day before you’re ready to serve, and place out at room temperature 1/2 hour-1 hour before serving.

  • 
If you are slicing a tiered cake, please remove the 4”and/or 6” cake from the 8” cake before slicing. This ensures the cakes does not get pressed down into the 8” cake. It is also safest to cut any cake on a solid, level surface.
